Questions to ask your builder

If you’ve decided to go the route of buying a new construction home (in process) or building it — here are a few questions to ask your builder. These will help you determine if the builder is a good fit for you. And if you still just aren’t sure or need any extra help, please feel free to reach out to me!

1. Do you have to use their preferred lender?
2. Can you see a copy of their contract?
3. What does their timeline for completion or where could you fit in?
4. What can you choose as far as features, fixtures, appliances etc?
5. Do they offer any landscaping package or have referrals?
6. How are extra unexpected costs handled?
7. What warranties do they provide?
8. Are there deed restrictions, covenants etc?
9. Neighborhood amenities?
10. How often do they allow walkthroughs and can a final be done before closing?
